This past week I went to Disneyland with part of my family. You see my Dad, little sister and her friend who were all going to Disneyland live in Sacramento, California....I live in Phoenix, Arizona. This made it so I had to do the six hour drive to Anaheim ALONE. Was I scared to do this? Yes! I have never driven farther then an hour and a half by myself. However, I concurred through and made it in six hours on the way to Disneyland, and a mere five and a half hours on the way back!
So here is the story. My dad wanted to do something to celebrate his birthday this year (he turned the big 5-0) and so he decided to take a trip with Abigail and Hannah (Abby's best friend). When he had made his final decision to go to Disneyland he called me and asked if I would want to go along. I said I would see what I could do, and what do you know six days later I was driving to California!
We decided to keep the fact that I was going to Disneyland a surprise from Abigail. So when I finally got there my dad had them go to the gift shop in the hotel, and I snuck up on Abigail. The plan was for me to walk behind her and give her a hug, however when I was about a foot away from her she turned around and saw me. Her reaction went a little something like this:
1. Look at my like I was a deer in front of her car headlights
2. Lose ability to speak
3. After five seconds she finally starting laughing/crying and turned VERY red
4. Give me a big hug and continue to be in shock that I was there!
It was a very cool surprise and I was happy I was able to be there for that. :)
On my drive down I was talking to Christine and I found out she COULD HAVE GONE! She found out the night before but thought it was too late to call dad. So when I found this out I was very upset for her not calling dad and waking him. Why WOULDN'T she go to the happiest place on earth! Well once I told my dad he called and gave her a hard time about it. Next thing you know it was 5:15PM and we were calling to tell her that she had a 6:50PM flight out of Sacramento to Orange County so she better start packing!
In the end it ending up being my dad, Christine, Abigail, Hannah, and myself. It was the first time my dad got to celebrate his birthday with all three of his daughters. It made all of us very happy!
Annnnnndddd now for some pictures from our trip! Enjoy!
