Birthday Week!

Hello! :)

This last week I celebrated my 25th birthday, I can hardly believe it! I always take my birthday off of work, but this year I took an entire week off. I decided to truly enjoy my birthday and relax a bit, without the stress of work.

The first couple days if vacation weren't anything special really. The first day we took AnTjuan's Jeep into the mechanic and I had a laser hair removal session.  The second day, we took my car into the shop (so fun right?!). That night I talked on the phone for two hours with my friend Beth (Boston/Australia Beth) and we had SUCH a good talk. We literally talked about everything from her
upcoming wedding to her dog Benson getting neutered. It made my night to have such a good talk with her.

Thursday, the third day, was my actual birthday. I woke up to chocolate milk, Oreos and orange flowers from AnTjuan. After a healthy birthday breakfast made entirely of Oreos and chocolate milk I opened my birthday gifts. As a grow older I truly have become less selfish over birthday gifts. I know and enjoy the true meaning of just getting a birthday card. I had cards from friends and family members not only from Arizona but Colorado and Massachusetts as well. I enjoyed every gift and card I got throughout the past week. I really am one lucky girl.

Then later in Thursday AnTjuan and I went to see "We're The Millers" and out to dinner at The Keg. It was one of my more laid back birthdays, but I loved it.

Friday morning Erin picked me up for our girls weekend trip to Long Beach, California. The drive out there went so quick. We listened to music (not audio books as she had requested lol) and talked the drive away. The good thing with having known her so long is we have learned how to handle long amount of time together. We have don't that drive to Cali with her family a million times. The rest of the weekend was so laid back. Friday we walked around their shopping and dining area, which honestly had like no shopping. We dined at California Pizza Kitchen and when we returned to our hotel we went down to the pool and hot tub. Remember how I said it was a paid back trip? I wasn't lying.....Erin was asleep at 830 and then I went to bed at 10.

Saturday, we decided to use our employee discount and eat at the Buffett in the hotel for breakfast. My goodness was that overpriced! $50 for two buffets.........

After realizing we should check prices at hotel restaurants and then laughing about it, we went upstairs to get ready for the beach. It was so incredibly foggy that day, so even though we took the "scenic" route the only view we had was of fog. Upon arriving to the beach we couldn't even see the end of the pier because it was so foggy. We tested the waters and it was so cold! We never got all the way into the ocean, we left that for the little kids and surfers.

After the ocean we went to the hotel and watched "Drinking Buddies" which I expected to be a lot better. It is one of those movies they just suddenly ends, leaving you without any form of closure. I hate when movies do that.

Then Sunday came and it was back to Arizona! It may have been a short tip but it truly was so relaxing, I loved it.

Today I went back to the real world and that means back to work. It was a but day, but my coworkers surprised me with balloons, a card and birthday cake.

Overall it was a great week and a wonderful start to being 25.

............25........quarter of century........SO WEIRD!!!! However, even though it is weird, I have loved my journey so far and hope the next 25 years are even better. :)
