There is this new thing I have been trying out lately that I like to call "being a good citizen." It is a rare thought I grant you but it does make me, and others smile which is always a good thing. The other day when I was driving away from a store there were five army men standing around their car and so from inside my car I saluted them to show my respect and say thank you. You know whats the cool part? They all smiled and waved back. One of them even mouthed the words' Thank You." It was pretty cool!
Then today I went to the gas station and the entire complex was out due to the rain we have been having. As I was driving away I noticed a guy running in the rain with his gas jug trying to get fuel for his car. When he got there he about fell to the ground out of sadness/frustration that there wasn't any fuel available. I wanted to help him but I was not about to let him get in my car regardless of how nice he was, and I didn't think he would trust me enough to take his gas gallon & money to go fuel up his container for him down the street. So instead I drove down there (passing his car along the way), put $7 in my tank and $3 in a fuel container to bring back to him. It literally took two minutes from the time I left the first station to them time I got back to it. Well when I got back I did not see his car broken down on the road anymore and he was not anywhere that I could find. I searched all of the parking lots around the area his car was at and could not find him even after a good ten minute search. So I ended up putting the gas into my car, but I was trying to help a stranger and make it so he didn't have to run in the rain anymore!
At least I can say I tried & on the bright side he was able to figure SOMETHING out since he went M.I.A. so fast!
What kind act have you done lately?
